1. Triglav National Park, Slovenia

While many tourists visit Slovenia to enjoy the famous castle in beautiful Lake Bled, they all too often miss seeing Triglav National Park. This park is one of the oldest in all Europe and the nation’s largest protected area as well.

Hike the many trails across the peaks and be sure to see the Savica and Pericnik Waterfalls. Go kayaking or swimming in the clear water of Lake Bohinj. This national park is a stunning part of the country that stands out all on its own.

  1. We beg to differ! According to such sites as worldatlas.com: “The Republic of Turkey is a transcontinental Eurasian nation located between Europe and Asia.” It is a transcontinental country. In fact, a small portion is located on the Balkan peninsula in Southeastern Europe.
In other words, it qualifies for inclusion on this list.
    Thanks for reading!

  2. Only a small part of Turkey is Europe. The rest of the country is Asia, with people living many centuries back.

  3. Hi!
Yes! I have actually acknowledged that elsewhere on this website. The point is since part of the country is in Europe it met the qualifications for inclusion on the list. It is similar to including Niagara Falls as a favorite American honeymoon destination. We all know part of the place is in Canada but nevertheless it is the part of the area that is physically in the USA that gets it on the list.
I hope that clarifies things for you.
    Thanks for reading!

  4. So according to you Will Phoenix, Vladivostok, Primorskij kraj, Russland is in Europe, since St. Petersburg and other parts of Russia is in Europe.
It’s just a tiny bit of Turky that are in Europe. Therby this National Park should not be on this list.

  5. Hello!
I am sorry but I have already addressed the issue citing online sources. Turkey is a transcontinental country and those who created the list considered it eligible for the list. While I am the person who wrote the article, I did not create the list.
I suggest that you read the response more carefully and proofread your own comment as well. I usually get paid to write. Therefore, if you wish to discuss this further, you can either send me money or get your mother to buy me several drinks.
