16Stari Most, Bosnia

Stari Most is a heritage stage dating back to the mid 16th century. It serves as a testimony to the country’s resilience across eras. The bridge was broken down during the Bosnian War of 1993, only to have it resurrected and opened again in 2004 after spending $13 million on the restoration. Today, the bridge is a known world heritage site, and it is local tradition to dive into the river from the bridge.
