19Khaju Bridge, Iran

Commissioned by Shah Abbas II of erstwhile Persia now Iran, the Khaju Bridge features 23 arches and also doubles up as a dam. It manages much of the River Zayandeh waters. Stone seats created for the Shah still exist. There is a relaxing pavilion in the middle, which was the royalty’s tea house.
