66. The Venetian Pool
The Venetian Pool is a historic and unique public swimming pool found in Coral Gables. Designed by Denman Fink and Phineas Paist, it was once nothing more but an old, hidden, abandoned, four-acre coral rock quarry. It was opened in 1924 and was originally named the Venetian Casino.
Today it is the United States’ biggest freshwater pool. The pool is emptied and refilled every day. Here amidst the scenic porticos and palm trees you can swim and splash in the grottos and waterfalls. Check the official Coral Gables website for its availability.
