22. The Nubra Valley, India
The tri-armed Nubra Valley can be found roughly 150 kilometers (93+ miles) north of the Indian town of Leh. The easiest way to access this area is to take the Khardung La pass out of the town. The average altitude there is 10,000 feet (or about 3,048 meters) above sea level. Resident scholars say this place was originally christened Ldumra which means “the Valley of Flowers” in English.
Just don’t forget that anyone visiting from another country must first obtain a permit prior to entering the Nubra Valley.
