Even if you’re allergic, flowers are still both colorful and beautiful. In fact, you probably send people flowers for a lot of different occasions such as Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, or birthdays. (Face it, some of you even buy flowers in order to offer an apology.) While most flowers sent as gifts are common, nature has given the world some unusual and unique flowers as well, Here are 10 of them.
10. The Snake’s Head Fritillary
The famous Snake’s Head Fritillary are unusual wildflowers. Also known as the leper lily, this flower has pretty checkered petals that some say resemble snakeskin. It also has a few other names including the chess flower, the frog-cup, the guinea flower, and the guinea-hen flower. Its more scientific name, Fritillaria, originates from “fritillus” a Latin word. In English means “a dice box.” It is a reference to the trademark checkered patterns that can be seen on this flower’s petals.
