88. The Sea Poison Tree

The Sea Poison Tree is also known as Barringtonia Asiatica. When the flowers from this plant are in full bloom they are said by some to look a lot like a typical cheerleader’s pom-pom. If you are interested in seeing these unusual flowers up close you will have to visit spots off the coasts of the Pacific or Indian Oceans. SUch creatures as moths and bats are drawn to these particular flowers because of what some describe as their signature “sweet sickly” scent.
