44. The Pitcher Plant
Some people refer to this plant as the “monkey cup.” Call it a “pitcher” or a “cup”, either way, its appearance makes it obvious that either tag is apropos. It certainly is a natural “water bottle” in that even in the midst of a hot tropical climate, it is quite capable of holding water. Unfortunately for small birds, rodents and insects, this particular plant can be very dangerous. It can capture, hold and even dissolve any poor creature that is drawn too near.
