6Reykjavik, Iceland

Reykjavik overflows with the Christmas spirit. The city celebrates several festivities focusing on peace and harmony and the traditions of Iceland. There are many markets, concerts, and incredible illuminations.

Enjoy the Icelandic architecture. Visit Yule Town located in Ingolfstorg Square. Local legend has it that a few days prior to Christmas, mischievous muscled mountain ogres enter the town and incite mayhem.

Look for them in the craft market. Foodies will want to sample the wares at the famous Jalakras Street Food Christmas Market. Maybe you can catch the kaleidoscopic Northern Lights as well.
