22. The Pufferfish

The pufferfish is the planet’s “second most poisonous vertebrate.” Their venom is actually 1200 times deadlier than cyanide. They expand or puff up when threatened. Their poison can kill an adult in minutes. While their meat is considered a delicacy in some countries, if not prepared properly the meat is poisonous. There is no antidote.
