3Visit the Kennedy Space Center and reach for the stars

The late, great David Bowie once sang: “Ground control to Major Tom . . .” How apropos! Because it’s time to blast off for adventure!

Specifically, the popular Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is the official visitor center at NASA’s (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) famous Kennedy Space Center.

Here you can space out and experience one of the greatest moments in U.S. history–the world famous moon landing. Here at this real NASA installation, you will be able to enjoy a tour of the actual launch pad and learn all about the history of the exploration of space.

This center features a number of different artifacts of the international space race. You’ll even be able to check out actual retired spacecraft like the famous 363-foot Saturn V Rocket and those actually used on Apollo moon missions.

  1. Thanks for the list! I rent a car to spend vacation here. So i think i will visit all of this attraction!

  2. Gatorland should have DEFINITELY been at the top of this list. No way should it have been so low down!

  3. Hi!
Look at it this way, even if the panel disagreed with you, sometimes we post them in no particular order. (We might not always tell you that because we have word count limits.) Thanks for your comment and most of all, thanks for reading my stuff!

  4. Kennedy Space Center and Cocoa Beach are not in Orlando. They are about 45 mins-1 hr East. And that’s definitely not a picture of the COCOA BEACH* pier. There is no Canaveral Pier, although the Cocoa Beach Pier is closer to Cape Canaveral than the heart of Cocoa Beach. Our water is not clear like that picture, unfortunately.

  5. Hi!
Thanks for the comment. Allow me to address your concerns.

I specified that Cocoa Beach was less than an hour from Orlando in the actual text of the feature. It concerns me that you are criticizing the article but you did not seem to read that.

Additionally, it should be a given that when you go to a specific city you might want to also check out something not far away from the city itself as well. For example, many people do not make a special trip to see Hoover Dam, but when they go to the city of Las Vegas, they will drive out of town to see it.

Another example, no one flies to California simply to see where Jelly Bellies are made. However, if you travel o San Francisco, you can take a road trip to the factory even though it is clearly not in the city of San Francisco.

As to your claim that the picture is not Cocoa Beach, you will have to argue that point with the 80+ websites that say it is. . .including businesses associated with/located in Orlando.

If you do a search, you will see that Canaveral Pier is another name for Cocoa Beach Pier.

As to the clarity and color of the water, apparently the water was indeed that nice when the picture was taken. Whether or not it is every single day or not, is another issue.

    Thanks
