Again, this is one of those great year-round vacation destinations. Still, there are some definite advantages to traveling here in the month of May. The weather is moderate, the humidity is low, there’s little chance of a hurricane, and the mosquitos are not yet in full force.
It’s hot but it is not so hot that it is genuinely uncomfortable. In fact, the weather during the month of May is said to be perfect for sailing. Book a charter boat for a sunset cruise or bring your own vessel.
The water is relatively warm too so you can go swimming and snorkeling as well. The tourist numbers are low both on excursions and on the beach. Last but not necessarily least, fewer tourists in May means a drop in hotel rates and more availability and even better prices on flights to the Bahamas.
