Visit Ottawa in May. The summer tourists have yet to arrive and winter is over. The spring flowers are in bloom too making it a beautiful time to visit as well.  

Additionally, you can get some noteworthy deals on both plane tickets and accommodations in May. There is also the colorful Canadian Tulip Festival, highlighted by over one million tulips. Mind you, it also is known to draw over half a million attendees too.

What’s more, this is but the first of a number of different outdoor festivals. Besides seeing the rather impressive spring flowers, other suggested activities in Ottawa include walking on Parliament Hill and a boat trip along the popular  Rideau Canal. May is warm, but not hot.
