The National Palace Museum in Taiwan had a staggering 5.4 million people visiting in 2014. Among other exquisite and exotic collections, the museum houses ancient Oriental artefacts and paintings. With a permanent collection of 700,000 artworks, the museum was in fact a part of the Old Palace Museum, which was divided into two post the Chinese Civil War. Art enthusiasts can feast on a variety of memorabilia including ceramics, paintings, rare book editions, scrolls, calligraphy pieces and a lot more.
