1212. The Mausoleum Of Light
Ensconced in the mountainous northeastern region you’ll find Shenyang, the home of the famous Zhaoling or Mausoleum of Light. Also called the Northern Imperial Tomb, it took eight years to complete. The mausoleum spreads out over 180,000 square meters and its architectural style blends castle-like structures of the Qing period with the look of traditional Chinese burial sites.
