Edisto Island, South Carolina

Situated an hour out of the famous city of Charleston, Edisto Island is one of South Carolina’s popular Sea Islands. It’s also reported to be a great place for a comfy warm winter beach vacation. The island is known as a “peaceful retreat” but there’s still quite a lot to do there.

While you might just want to simply relax on Edisto Beach, there are other opportunities as well. You can take in the natural beauty of the beauteous Botany Bay Plantation Heritage Preserve. You can also wander around the local Kings Farmers Market and sample the local wares.

If that’s not enough for you though, there are a number of other highlights. They include (but are not limited to) constant 80-degree temperatures, stunning places such as Lawa’i Beach and Poipu Beach, and impressive hiking trails. In fact, if you’re a history buff, then exploring the Koloa Heritage Trail is a definite “must do.” There’s also ziplining and the famous Spouting Horn geyser.
