4Take In The Great View At Pigeon Island National Park, St. Lucia
There’s a picturesque nature reserve not far from Rodney Bay in the Pigeon Island National Park’s northwest region. It is one of the highlights of this Caribbean isle complete with historic ruins and a pair of pretty beaches. Hike the trail to famous Fort Rodney, enjoy the view and learn a little bit about the ruins here. The various informational signs tell the torrid tale of the old fort built by Admiral George Rodney in the late 18th century. They provide both historical and cultural insight into the structure’s significance. On a clear day, (as the song goes), you can see as far as Martinique.
