2. Don’t buy fancy drinks
If you are not much of a drinker, it’s no big deal. If you enjoy sampling international alcohols, though it’s cheaper to buy them at the local convenience store or grocery. If you plan on hitting the clubs, set a spending limit ahead of time like only setting aside $25.00 for booze. Check the drink menus ahead of time too. The money you save can be spent on visiting another attraction.
1. Use bathrooms in restaurants and museums
In Europe, it is not unusual to have to pay to use a public restroom. While they generally run under $2.50, that can quickly add up over your vacation (especially if you forgot to budget for it). Use free restrooms whenever possible. The restrooms inside attractions and museums are usually free. If you are a customer, the bathrooms in restaurants are also free. Oddly, some restrooms actually require a user to purchase toilet paper. Hence, you might want to keep some toilet paper handy or even pocket a pack of tissues for just such an occasion.
