16. Take budget airlines between European countries

Use budget airlines to travel between countries in Europe. Buses and trains are also options but will take more time. Some of the more popular budget airlines that provide services in Europe include EasyJet, Ryanair, and Wizz Air. Keep in mind, these airlines will charge you extra for any checked luggage, seat selection, and any other optional extras. Between the cheap price and the quick flight though, it is well worth a little extra travel planning.

15. Pack light

Ever since most airlines started charging fees for checked luggage, packing minimally or using only carry-on baggage has become not only more popular but smarter too. Not only will you save a significant amount of cash by not checking any baggage, but you will also save time because you will not have to worry about finding and then waiting at a baggage carousel in every single airport at which you land. If you’ve little idea how to pack lightly you can find helpful hints, packing lists, and instructional videos online. In addition to saving money and time, you will also be able to move around the city a lot easier and will have less to lug up the stairs in European hotels that have no elevators.
