12. Stay in hostels or Airbnbs

Another easy way to save some money is to stay at a hostel. They can also be a great place to meet tourists from all around the world. An Airbnb is another great budget-friendly choice in many European cities. Still, if you insist on a hotel, do your homework first. The majority of cheap hotels are a bit further from any city hub. That means you will either have to use public transit a bit more often or do a little bit more walking. Websites such as EasyHotel.com have data on numerous budget-friendly hotels in a number of different major cities in Europe.

11. Avoid tourist season

You can save money and time by avoiding the peak of tourist season (which is usually from May to September). In the off-season, you will beat the heat, experience shorter lines everywhere, and the various attractions and museums will not be as crowded. Some places could be closed or have reduced hours but one can plan around that possibility. Also remember that some places, especially Alpine nations, have a winter tourist season too. Again, do your due diligence and plan accordingly and you will be fine. Click On the Next > Button to See Next.
