18. Pack a small day bag

Upon arrival, your bags are shuffled around a bit on their way to your room. It could take some time before you are given the OK to enter your room too. So it can be a help to have a small day bag. Pack medication, sunscreen, perhaps a book, a bathing suit, or anything else you cannot possibly go without for a couple of hours.

A good choice of bag is a folding duffle that you can easily put away once you’re all settled into your cabin. If it is also waterproof you can also use it for a beach bag when you’re docked for some swim time.

17. You will not be bored

If you have never been on a cruise before you might think being confined to a ship for days at a time will bore you. The truth is, a lot of effort has been made to entertain passengers.

You will be offered the opportunity to engage in such activities as dance parties, daytime pool-side competitions, late night clubs, games, gambling and more. Some cruises even have family-friendly activities and even separate, special kids clubs complete with adult supervision and even ocean-themed activities to give them things to do too.
