12. Planning is required
During the cruise, the demand for certain tours, restaurants, and other activities will increase. You can avoid any disappointments and unwanted downtime by making sure you book your desired activities–especially on dock days–well ahead of time.
While winging it and being spontaneous is sometimes exciting, it is definitely not recommended when it comes to cruises. Remember, there are thousands of other passengers that may want to do the same things you want to do. So plan ahead and take your cue from the Boy Scouts of America and “be prepared.”
11. Sometimes you’re allowed to bring your own food
Travelers who have dietary issues might want to skip the all-inclusive option. If you are on a strict diet then you should look into cruises that permit passengers to bring their own food on board. In other words, pack a cooler and head for the dock.
You can restock your cooler with whatever specific eats you need at the various places where the ship docks. Mind you, numerous ships have top-rated chefs so maybe you can still cheat and enjoy the occasional dinner onboard.
