Completed in the late 19th century, the Brooklyn Bridge is nothing short of a historic NYC landmark that has come to symbolize the city’s glory. Housed behind the lofty city skyscrapers to create a brilliant glistening backdrop, the bridge links Brooklyn and Manhattan by crossing East river. The construction phase of the bridge was somewhat doomed, with John Roeling dying shortly after construction of the bridge commenced. His son took over but was bogged down by illness himself. It was his wife who oversaw Brooklyn Bridge’s completion.
