No bridge is as iconic of the city that houses it as San Fran’s Golden Gate. It has in fact come to symbolize the entire nation. Designed by Joseph Strauss, the bridge sought to connect Marin Country over the Golden Gate strait to San Francisco. It took several thousand workers and $35 million to complete one of the world’s most iconic bridges. Among other things, it is globally renowned for its Art Deco features and stunning Pacific Ocean views.
