12Hoover Dam
The man-made wonder and top landmark known as Hoover Dam is situated on the Arizona – Nevada state border. In fact, thanks to a sign there you can photograph yourself standing in both states at once. It was constructed in the 1930s and, at the time, was the world’s tallest dam.
Learn about its history and see exhibits and models at the Visitor Center. You can learn more about its history, see models and exhibits, and you can take a tour too. If you are short on time and prefer to skip the official tour, you can get a great view from the well-known Mike O’Callaghan Memorial Bridge or the dam’s pedestrian footpath right next to the road.
