16Canyon de Chelly National Monument

If you need a break from Arizona’s tourist stops, this is an outstanding place to visit. It is a stunning, lesser-known gem! It is nestled in a rather remote section of northeastern Arizona on Indigenous land.

Drive around the rim and use a pullout to enjoy the scenery here. Take in the sight of this pretty palate of browns, golds, and reds and the verdant green of the canyon floor. To get the most out of your visit, hire a local guide so you have access to the entire canyon. The visitor center provides a list of guides to all interested travelers.

  1. been to all but 2 .. most ive been to 3 to 80+ times..i was a tour director that took small groups on 2 week to 9 week camping trips usa, canada, alaska,mexico ..i did it for 16yrs..
