25Oatman

This unincorporated community is located along Route 66 between Kingman and Needles. This village was born in 1915 when a couple of people discovered gold worth more than 10 million dollars. It grew to include 3,500 residents and then became a ghost town when Interstate 40 was constructed and the gold mines closed. Today less than 50 people live here. Highlights include protected wandering burros, unique shops, and Oatman Hotel where movie stars Clark Gable and Carole Lombard honeymooned.

  1. been to all but 2 .. most ive been to 3 to 80+ times..i was a tour director that took small groups on 2 week to 9 week camping trips usa, canada, alaska,mexico ..i did it for 16yrs..
