17. Dubrovnik Old Town, Croatia
You will find this perfectly preserved medieval city stretching out into the Adriatic Sea and backdropped by brash limestone mountains. This 13th-century UNESCO-protected place is highlighted by honey and apricot-tinted rooftops and surprisingly wide, marble roads. From the enclosing thick stone walls, visitors can take in clear views in any direction of the sapphire seas and nearby islands.
18. The Thermal Pools, Turkey
The thermal pools in the town of Pamukkale in western Turkey are nothing short of gorgeous. The shimmering turquoise and bright white hues are heavenly. See the terrific travertine terraces complete with staggered steps that lead down the side of the mountain. They were created over millennia by limestone deposits from the popular natural hot springs, which overflow and form the milky-blue pools found there.
