Don’t skip a visit to the fascinating and intriguing Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza and Tulum. One of the country’s biggest and ingeniously restored archaeological ruins, the Mayan settlement dates back over 1,000 years. Among other mysterious structures, The UNESCO World Heritage Site features Chac mool statues and the iconic El Castillo pyramid. Tulum is located an hour away from Chichen Itza and can be covered in a single day trip. The beach is celebrated for its spectacular cliff top position, and being a fortified beach town. Tulum is filled with lots of sculptures and structures that make for insightful viewing.
