4Rotterdam, Netherlands
Just a brief 36-mile train ride from Amsterdam you will find Rotterdam. Like in Amsterdam, Rotterdam has numerous coffee shops where you can buy and smoke different kinds of marijuana and hash but it’s less “touristy.” Rotterdam is both a municipality and the second-largest in the Netherlands.
Situated in the South Holland province, it’s best known for its riverside setting, maritime heritage, cultural life, and the Erasmus University. It’s also the largest port in Europe and where one can find the unique Cube Houses. Other highlights include the indoor market known as Markthal. Music lovers should visit the second weekend in July in order to attend the North Sea Jazz Festival. In September the city hosts one of its biggest events–The World Port Days.
