Yes, this state has some of the nation’s coldest temperatures in winter. Still, there are many fun winter activities to be found here. Visit Door County and go ice fishing, ice skating, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing.
You can also take a fun winter wine tour and snowy sleigh ride, and then warm up with a real, old-school fish fry. There are also the ice caves of Apostle Island located in Bayfield. Found along lovely Lake Superior, they are in part the result of waves splashing onto the rock and partially freezing onto the cliff. Visit between late January through late February, since the lake has to be frozen solid in order to access the caves.
