4Bend, Oregon
Located east of the Cascade Mountains, Bend is reported to be the state’s premier outdoor playground. It features lovely lakes, majestic mountains, raging rivers, and both volcanic and desert landscapes. It is also a year-round wonder for photographers and nature lovers. From November to April, it is also one of the best places for downhill skiing and snowboarding if you head to Mount Bachelor.
Indeed, it’s great for other winter sports as well. Here you can take advantage of the ice skating rinks, and sledding hills. There are also many miles of trails where you can go snowshoeing or even Nordic skiing. Several of the hiking trails here remain accessible and generally snow-free too.
