5La Sagrada Família
Antoni Gaudi, the Catalan master of art nouveau, worked on the construction of the Church of the Sacred Family from 1882 up until he died in 1926. This towering place of worship is unique because of the Gothic-style twist added to its appearance.
Gaudi never lived to complete his vision and often told others that his “client [God] is in no hurry.” Thanks to many private donations, this church remains under construction to this day. It’s hoped that the building will finally be completed before 2026.
