6Casa Batlló
Antoni Gaudi was at his best when he worked on detailing the Casa Batlló. This is actually an official UNESCO World Heritage site. Just down the street from the popular Casa Milà, Casa Batlló is famous for its skeletal terraces, intricate tile work, and its vibrant colors.
The building’s unusual look was reportedly inspired by the story of St. George who slew a dragon and saved a princess. The boney windows and skeletal balconies represent the dragon’s victims. The roof is representative of the dragon’s scaled back.
