3Topkapi Palace Museum

From 1478 to 1856, this palace was the residence of the Ottoman Sultans. Sometime following the end of the Ottoman era, in 1924, the palace was officially converted into a museum.

The museum is highlighted by not only the architecture and courtyards but also its collections of art, cutlery, fabric, porcelain, and weaponry. Some of the more popular exhibits include the calligraphy area, the kitchens, the gardens, and the coffee shop. Here weary guests can refuel and enjoy the views of the Golden Horn.
