6The Chora Museum

The Chora Museum is situated in the Edirnekapi neighborhood of Faith. Once a Byzantine church, this museum was also once a mosque. One of the highlights of this museum is a number of beautiful frescoes and mosaics that are thought by many sources to be some of the world’s best examples of Byzantine art.

Veteran visitors recommend hiring a guide at the entrance of the museum because no historical info is provided inside. Don’t forget to pick up a souvenir at the gift shop before you go.
