16Zion National Park, Utah
Some travel writers write that Utah’s Zion National Park is one of the U.S. National Park Service’s best-kept secrets. This is a park where you can do more than observe nature from afar, you can totally immerse yourself in it. One specific must-do activity here is hiking The Narrows.
Perhaps one of the most unusual hikes you will ever complete, it begins on dry ground, before it leads you straight down the center of a river and towering canyons as well. It is a near-amazing experience that both parents and kids should appreciate. Of course, there are a number of other optional activities offered here from hanging out and learning something at the park’s Nature Center, to swimming or wading in the river, and an assortment of other memorable family-friendly hikes.
You can stay in the park or book accommodations in a Springdale hotel right outside this national park. The area includes an assortment of amazing eateries. When you’ve had your fill of hiking and browsing the town’s shops, get a bite to eat at the Zion Pizza & Noodle Co. Have fun with the kids!
