No one’s certain about the country’s name
There are several theories as to how the country got its name. The most well-known theory is that the name was derived from the Portuguese term for “heart,” because the isle was a trade center during the 1600s. The popular languages here are Dutch, English, Papiamento, Portuguese, and Spanish.
