No one’s certain about the country’s name

There are several theories as to how the country got its name. The most well-known theory is that the name was derived from the Portuguese term for “heart,” because the isle was a trade center during the 1600s. The popular languages here are Dutch, English, Papiamento, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Curaçao is a protected melting pot

The capital of the country is the pastel-painted city named Willemstad. For more than 20 years this place has been an official UNESCO World Heritage site. Additionally, you will find a number of people of different origins here.
