6. Asheville, North Carolina
Asheville, situated on the edge of the great Great Smoky Mountains National Park, is another fave for a romantic rendezvous. Conveniently located near the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, this is a great place for newly married couples who can’t decide on the city or the country. Its architecture and popular art and food scenes seemingly scream “city” but such action-filled activities as high adventure hiking and white water rafting cry out “country.”
