7Lake Powell
Lake Powell straddles the border of Arizona and Utah. It’s a reservoir on the mighty Colorado River. Veteran visitors say you simply must visit it at least once in your lifetime.
It is pristine and truly looks as if it is untouched. Be sure to take some time to see the Rainbow Bridge, too. It is one of the world’s largest naturally occurring bridges. And you can swim in it, which is hard to believe since it looks so pristine and untouched.

Are we supposed to be focusing on nature or on peoples @sses?
Hi!
Considering there are only two pictures showing anyone from behind in the entire article I would say you should be focusing on nature. Thanks for the comment and by all means go back and read the entire article and you will see what I mean.
Well I didn’t notice her butt! I was taken back by the beauty ahead of her, I guess it depends on the person??
Hi!
I believe it all has its roots in the advertising. I am only the writer. I do not have anything to do with the ads and always thought the ads were (to some degree) tailored to the individual reader. But what do I know? Thanks for your support.
A lot of people don’t get past the first couple in the list due to the excessive ads and annoying “click for next” mechanics.
What can I say? I am only the writer. I am unclear on how you define “a lot.” Only you and maybe one other person has ever bothered commenting on the advertising since I have been working here.
Perhaps most know that is how the bills are paid (and always have been since before the internet). We do not charge subscription fees so there is that. I must also note that not all of our articles are formatted in the same way either. In fact, if you check out the articles immediately after they are published, you’ll see they are all initially “scroll downs.” I hope that helps. Thank you for sharing your opinions.
Thanks for the insight on these lakes! There was a few I knew of and have been to since I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. But now with your article I plan to visit a few more. I really appreciate your writing. To me it makes it intriguing and I want to see these lakes.
Hello!
Thank you for your comment. To be honest, while I have already done a lot of traveling, I learn more about this planet every time I write an article. Thanks for reading!
Having trouble viewing this article when it only shows 2 lakes E of the Mississippi River.
Kinda biased I’m thinking.
Maybe the author is a homei and never gets out of the West
Hi!
I am unclear how you would be having difficulty seeing the article because of the content.
I am the writer, and I did not create the list. So, sorry, but your thought there is incorrect. I have done plenty of traveling too.
Keep reading and you will learn that I grew up in PA and was a world traveler prior to moving to CA.
I am sorry if your favorite did not make the cut but the folks who provide the lists have their criteria. Sometimes I am told about it and sometimes not. Please don’t shoot the messenger.
Keep reading, you will probably find your favorite lake mentioned somewhere. Thanks for your comment. Can we assume you like everything else on the website? I hope so.
I know me too people are just idiots hopefully they won’t even go there!
What’s the name of the place that the girl and her dog are swimming in ?
Hi!
Are you referring to number 16? Lake George?
Where is the first photo? Absolutely stunning with the multicolored rock formations…
Hi!
If you mean the fist picture in the article that should be a lake in Glacier National Park in Montana. It should be one of the lakes listed in the entry.
Thanks for your comment!
Hey, I know this is 2 years later, but figured I give it a try. Researching lakeside vacation for 2024. Want rugged nature, in USA or Canada for May, June vacation. Single female traveling alone. Suggestions?
Hi!
I don’t know if we have any specifically targeted to females, but there is this one: https://addtobucketlist.com/18-best-solo-trips-to-take-in-2023/ and if you don;t like that search under “solo trips” and you will probably find another one about traveling solo in Europe.
Thanks for your support!
Will
Will I want to thank you for your descriptions accompanying these wonderful photo’s of picturesque lakes and the National Parks and the local towns nearest to the lakes.
It must be difficult to take someone else’s photo’s and try to read the thought of the photographers into their images!
Once again, congratulations on a job well done!
Ed
Hi!
Actually, you give me too much credit. I am usually given the assignments, write the articles, and then there are two of us who pick the photos. But thanks for your support!
