10Hogenakkal Falls, South India

Hogenakkal Falls is nestled along the Kaveri River in the state of Tamil Nadu at an elevation of 700 meters (or 2.300 feet). It is commonly referred to as “the Niagara Falls of India.” For a really close look, take a guided boat tour. Tourists are advised to visit during thunderstorm season to get the full effect.

  1. Kaieteur Falls, Guyana should have been on this list. It measures 741 feet and is the tallest single drop waterfall in the world.
