19. The Dark Hedges, Northern Ireland
This landmark in County Antrim remains mysterious despite being made famous as the Kingsroad in the television program “Game of Thrones”, this tree-lined lane is haunted by the Grey Lady, who is said to float between the branches every evening. The locals say she’s actually the ghost of a maid who died under unknown circumstances years ago.
20. Reynisdrangar, Iceland
Reynisfjara in Vík í Mýrdal is a beach highlighted by sea stacks protruding out of the water. Local lore has it that these columns of rock, named Reynisdrangar, were once terrible trolls that went into the sea to lure ships to their doom. Luckily for the sailors and fishermen, the trolls turned to stone when caught in the early morning sunlight.
