This field of nine huge holes in Saaremaa was created by falling meteorites about 7,500 years ago. The cosmic origins of this place have many believing this was once sacred ground. The discovery of various animal bones also has researchers pondering that it was once the home of an unknown ancient cult.
24. Loch Ness, United Kingdom
Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands is a famous freshwater lake said to be the home of an unknown creature nicknamed Nessie. Originally “sighted” in 1933, the local press claimed it was a duck fight. In 1934, a photograph surfaced but was eventually debunked. Today some believe she’s a huge eel.
