13. Highgate Cemetery, United Kingdom
This cemetery in London, England is certainly striking. This is more than the final resting place for roughly 53,000 people, but the graves of such celebrities as George Eliot and Karl Marx, it’s been an offbeat tourist spot too. During WWII it was reportedly used for cult ceremonies and the rumored home of ghosts and vampires.
14. Château De Brissac, Brissac-Quincé, France
Located in the Loire Valley, Château de Brissac is arguably France’s tallest castle. According to local lore, this building from the 1400s was where the Green Lady was murdered centuries ago. “La Dame Verte” was not able to move on to the afterlife and thus remains here, roaming the castle towers and grounds moaning.
