27. Joshua Trees, California
These unusual, spunky-looking trees can be found only in Joshua Tree National Park. Their shocks of prickly spines and spindly trunks not only make them a frequent source of curiosity, but they are also recognized as an important part of the Mojave Desert’s ecosystem.
28. Bryce Canyon, Utah
Bryce Canyon is unsurprisingly the main attraction of Bryce Canyon National Park. Undoubtedly its most individualistic characteristic is the towering rock spires nicknamed “hoodoos.” Almost aglow with shades of orange, red, and yellow, they give this canyon a surrealistic atmosphere.
