The Great Blue Hole is named for the beautiful shades of blue created by the immediate change of the water’s depth. The hole is 124 meters deep and 318 meters wide. It is a renowned destination for scuba diving. Due to the hole’s microclimate, marine experts and other scientists have learned a lot about what goes on in the deepest water on earth.
