Neatness helps
Frequent flyers might already know this, still, it doesn’t hurt to remember that neatness counts. TSA officers not only scrutinize what you put in your personal carry-on but also how you’ve packed it. If your carry-on luggage is so overstuffed and untidy that the X-ray scanner cannot provide an unobstructed, clear view of the contents, the TSA officers might tell you to unpack your carry-on and put the contents into a bin in order to be properly scanned. Your best bet is to organize your carry-ons to ensure they’re not cluttered.
Your electronic equipment is subject to screening
According to the TSA, all passengers in standard security lines must now place all personal electronic devices larger than a cell phone (ex: e-readers, tablets, handheld games, laptop computers) into bins for X-ray examination.
