Osaka is the home of Osaka Castle which harkens back to 1597. More specifically, there is a wonderful park directly in front of it that features 4,000 cherry trees. When they are in bloom, you can get a great shot of them with the castle visible in the background.  

Other cherry blossom hotspots include Kema Sakuranomiya Park–home to 5,000 trees–, the world-renown Expo 70 Commemorative Park, Tsurumi Riyokushi Park, and the Osaka Mint Bureau.

    Thanks for your comment and for reading the article. I can think of a couple of places that also have cherry blossom trees somewhere. Unfortunately, only these places made the top 14. No doubt Korea would have made a longer list. I do not really choose the winners though for the most part.
