Founded in 1947 as Malayan Airways. It was reopened for business as Singapore Airlines in 1972. Singapore’s flag carrier has its hub at the Singapore Changi Airport. For the first time in five years, Air New Zealand has knocked off the top of the charts. AirlineRatings.com reports that SA leads the way “in passenger innovations.” SA also garnered plaudits for its in-flight service, courteous crew, operation safety, revamped interiors and its use of the new Airbus A350-900ULR and Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners.
