Sighisoara and Brasov, (Transylvania)
In the depths of Transylvania is a pair of off-the-beaten-cobblestone-path places well worth a visit. The best hotels here are cheap. Sighisoara is a well-preserved memorable medieval citadel town. Nearby Brasov is larger but offers other opportunities. Take a guided hike in the mountains and visit the infamous 13th century Bran “Dracula” Castle too.
Provence
Located in southern France, visitors can enjoy the picturesque lavender fields and coastline. The city, Aix-en-Provence, is reportedly stunning and listed as one of Lonely Planet’s “top 10 European destinations for 2018.” Hop on a boat to the popular coastal inlets called Calanques and dive into their turquoise waters.
